3 Letter Danger Club – Hometown Boy

3 Letter Danger Club are a 4 piece funk, rock and ska band from West Yorkshire. They dropped their debut album “Life Juice” in August 2024 and are gigging locally at established venues such as Northern Quarter, Huddersfield. Preferring to steer clear of writing about romance, their original songs address topics such as misogyny, drug addiction and friendships gone wrong. The single “Hometown Boy” is a celebration of heavy guitars and fuses elements of rock, metal and ska. The blistering drums, honeyed vocals and lyrical guitar solo make for an exciting, fiery track to pack dance floors and cause a stir.“Hometown Boy” is about karma and how not to treat people, especially in the music industry.

The Laikers – Sometimes

The Laikers are a 3 piece band from Huddersfield and Halifax. As well as playing ‘60s covers and Northern Soul, they create their own original songs, bringing their own brand of upbeat, indie pop. The band enjoy gigging and they have honed their performance skills at venues such as the acclaimed Grayston Unity, Halifax. “Sometimes”, the band’s first single, was released in February this year. “Sometimes” is resoundingly cheerful with its jangly guitars, catchy chorus and sweet melodies. It has a very ‘60s sound, complete with strong vocals and appealing harmonies. The lyrics are very meaningful, discussing the positive and negative aspects of life and the reluctance to ask for help in times of need.”I thought that no
one could help me/ Everybody needs to find their own way/ No one could help, no one but me.” This debut single is a healthy serving of psychedelic tinged indie pop which tackles important themes.
