An unrelenting track reminding its listener of summertime, dancing well into the morning, walking home while the sun rises and getting ready to do it all over again the next night!

The Exotic Ices Project – Neurorotica

The Exotic Ices Project aims to unite their listeners, break genre barriers and have fun while doing it! This trailblazing duo, consisting of Ruby Jones and Patrick Spillane, creates immersive listening experiences handling all the instrumentation and production themselves – illustrating how the creative process for modern musicians goes beyond boundaries formed in past decades. Innovative and experimental, there’s something within this band’s discography for everyone.

The track ‘Neurorotica’ from their latest album ‘Necessarily Unnecessary’ explores neurodiversity and autism awareness, and how we can break down the stigma within these terms. Blending rock with indie to convey the feelings of angst and truthfulness, ‘Neurorotica’ highlights the issues that coincide with neurodivergency and the impact it has on the lives of those with and without a diagnosis. Breaking down the boundaries around these terms means we can all gain a better understanding of the human condition, embrace our individuality and build a world where we welcome diversity not just within the creative industries, but in every area of life. The eclectic balance of classic rock instrumentation and honest lyricism pulls the listener in, and the sonic landscape of every song from ‘Necessarily Unnecessary’ makes for a compelling listen.

Bobbino – Little Starry Night

Bobbino takes us for a sweet ride through space with his single ‘Little Starry Night’. Known for his electronic compositions, Bobbino strives to break the limits of ambient music with experimental chord progressions and imagery. His EP ‘Little Ambient Side Project’ (2023) is a journey through space and time within the span of 33 minutes, consisting of emotive harmonies and intriguing melodies.

‘Little Starry Night’ is exactly that, a star amongst the seven songs from the EP. This ambient piece involves smooth and subtle instrumentation, curating an intricate soundscape not dissimilar to the vast mass that is our galaxy. A collaboration between Bobbino himself and guitarist Martin Chung, you can tell that listening will be a memorable experience even before it starts playing. Described to be a “heartwarming ode to the night sky and the stars that blanket it”, something we will be seeing much more of now since the clocks have gone back, ‘Little Starry Night’ is definitely a song I’ll be playing on repeat!

MachineAfro-Funk Meets Soul: Ibibio Sound Machine with Kirklees Most Wanted’s Hannah Rowe at The Parish!

Get ready for an explosive night of music as London’s sensational electronic afro-funk collective, Ibibio Sound Machine, prepare to tear the roof off The Parish in Huddersfield on Friday, November 7, 2025. Adding a massive dose of local pride to the bill, they will be supported by Kirklees’ own rising star, Hannah Rowe. Having cultivated a powerful, soulful, and jazz-infused sound with her seven-piece band, Hannah is no stranger to the local scene—she’s a successful participant in the Kirklees Most Wanted project and recently thrilled crowds at the KMW Showcase and the WRXL After party at amped. Don’t miss this chance to see one of the region’s most exciting talents open for a global powerhouse!

The Headliners: Ibibio Sound Machine 💥
Ibibio Sound Machine is led by the magnetic Nigerian vocalist Eno Williams, whose lyrics are often drawn from her mother’s folk tales and told in the Ibibio language of Nigeria. Their sound is an irresistible mash-up: a clash of electronic elements with the golden era of West African funk and disco.

The eight-piece band has garnered international acclaim for their exhilarating live shows, building a reputation across major festivals like Glastonbury and WOMAD. Their latest material, following the success of albums like Electricity, promises a blend of raw energy and powerful synth-funk grooves that will transform The Parish into a sweat-soaked, all-night dance club. Prepare for an infectious performance that is as rhythmically complex as it is joyously danceable.

The Support: Hannah Rowe (Kirklees Most Wanted) 🎤
Opening the evening is the sensational Hannah Rowe, a local vocalist from the Leeds/Huddersfield area who has quickly become a standout on the UK’s independent music scene. Backed by her trio rather than her usual mighty 7-piece band, this is your change to catch Hannah delivering a more stripped down set of a sophisticated blend of R&B, Soul, and Jazz, drawing comparisons to artists like Raye and Cleo Sol.

Her recent appearances, including a knockout set at the Kirklees Most Wanted Showcase and the high-energy WRXL After party at amped, have firmly cemented her status as one-to-watch. Her voice is described as “timeless,” and her band’s captivating passion is palpable. This performance at The Parish is a fantastic opportunity to see a truly homegrown talent step up to a major support slot and showcase the powerful, authentic music she has been refining right here in Kirklees.

Kit Le Bihan – Softly, Softly

Huddersfield-based singer/songwriter/producer Kit Le Bihan opens a door into dark indie rock with their new single ‘Softly, Softly’, and this track is the perfect fit for any Indie fan!

Signed to the multimedia art collective and record label Live Forever since the beginning of 2025, Kit has been honing their craft as a producer since 2020; starting with ambient beats which later developed into the combination of lo-fi, shoegaze, emo, 2000’s alt-rock, bedroom pop and electronic genres. Having already released two albums named ‘The Cities We Build’ (2023) and ‘He Called Hex’ (2025), Kit is now working on their third album ‘Nighttime In My Garden’.

‘Softly, Softly’ was released as an additional track from ‘He Called Hex’, and it revisits “the album’s darker themes, with lyrics focusing on paranoia and internal distrust”. This track uses the theme of anxiety and internal warfare to create an immersive soundscape, enhancing the lyrics and overall message of Kit’s album.

Mighty Funk’houser – Darn’ce Floor Rocka

Calling all house and EDM fans, Huddersfield’s own Mighty Funk’houser is here to deliver the goods! His single ‘Darn’ce Floor Rocka’ is the perfect culmination of late-night funk and minimalist house taking centre stage on his latest EP “MFH001” – a project with soul baked into every track. It’s said that this song “ignites any dancefloor”, and I can’t argue with that!

Appearing on several mainstream platforms such as BBC 1Xtra, BBC radio 6, Rinse FM and Selector Radio, ‘Funkz’ is taking the industry to greater heights. Not only has he gained support from DJs like Jamz Supernova, but he has also shared the stage with artists such as Soulful Grooves, Down Town Calling, Anouj, Afronaut & Mark Force (Bugz in the Attic) and many more! On top of this, he co-runs Huddersfield’s Black Hudu club night alongside Anouj Hng Connoisseur and Soulful Grooves; “This night is dedicated to uniting under one groove, where worries and troubles are left behind.”

‘Darn’ce Floor Rocka’ is a force to be reckoned with, with a driving groove and a funky baseline. Imagine late nights on the dancefloor, swaying along to this track while the sun starts to rise, there are very few things that could beat that vibe!
