Good Good Blood & Georgie Buchanan

Date: Sunday 6 October Time: 6pm – 9pm Venue: Zapato Brewing Holme Mills, Marsden

Georgie Buchanan is Inspired by voyages to the Outer Hebrides, tales of ancient Celtic Goddesses and great folk singers from Peggy Seegar to Joni Mitchell, Georgie Buchanan is a unique singer and harpist on the contemporary folk scene.

Hailing from the North Shore Mountains of Canada and the Chiltern Hills, Georgie has always felt most at home creating music in the rich landscapes of the natural world. Since immersing herself in the folk world she’s performed with Show of Hands on the main stage of Sidmouth Folk Festival, been selected for Sound and Music’s highly competitive New Voices Programme.

Good Good Blood (aka James Smith) has slowly, over the course of a number of EP’s and album releases, built a reputation for beautiful, affecting and honest song writing.

Using a minimal, lo-fi recording set up Smith manages to make his songs burst into being, blossoming and flourishing, each one a testament to life, love, loss and everything that goes along with it. Echoes of Mount Eerie, Alex G and Bon Iver are ever present but, as Smith has shown throughout all his releases.
